About Me

I worked for almost thirty years in a corporate environment, mainly in managerial positions. After going through three periods of redundancy I re-evaluated my life and decided that I wanted to work with people in a more meaningful way which led to my training as a Person-Centred counsellor.

I hold both a Certificate and a Higher Professional Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling.

I have undertaken additional training to increase my knowledge and understanding of:

  • Art Therapy Skills
  • Childhood Sexual Abuse
  • Client Assessment
  • Drama Therapy
  • Focussing
  • Mental Health Issues
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Women in Danger
  • Working with Abuse
  • Working with Trauma

I also attend regular and on-going continued personal and professional development through workshops, courses and personal therapy.

I have professional membership with the BACP and am on their professional register. I abide by the BACP code of ethics and practice and receive regular supervision for my client work, ensuring that I am always working for your benefit and with your safety in mind.

I have experience working with young adults within a number of school settings including 3 years as a member of the counselling service at the Brit school in Croydon.

I have full Professional and Public Liability Insurance and I hold a current Criminal Records Bureau clearance. Additionally through my work in school settings I hold a current Enhanced CRB clearance.
